• Hi Max,
One of my websites is running Qtranslate-X and I would like to migrate to your plugin.
Do you have an installer or importer otherwise is it possible migrating without to rebuild the whole website?
    Thanks
    Angelo

I just wrote a small script for this. You can download it and install as a plugin: https://github.com/maximeschoeni/qtranslatex2sublanguage

It is very basic: it will only import titles, contents and excerpts.

But first you need to install plugin “Locomotive”: https://github.com/reaktivstudios/locomotive

Once both plugin are installed, go to “tools” > “batches” and just run the script.

Use with caution! This will permanently change your database. Please test it first on a cloned website. Or do backups!

    Tell me if it helps.

what about tags, categories and woocommerce products?
Does it mingle it or at least let import the main language?
How do I get these two plugin from github I’m not experienced about github

For now the categories/tags are not changed. You have to manually edit them. Do you have many of them?
Wocommerce products are custom posts so it should be ok.
In github just click the green button “clone or download” then “download zip”, unzip and move the folder in the wp-content/plugins directory.

    I have
    210 post category
    57 product category
    1,163 product tags
    392 post tag
be unchanged do you mean that they are shown in the main language only.

2- when I hit clone and download > download.zip file from github do I unzip in a
    qtranslatex2sublanguage folder
locomotive folder then move these two folders to plugin director is it correct?

Ok I added a process to export terms translation names as well. Please download the new version here.

Yes just move the 2 unzipped folders in the wp-content/plugins. Make sure not to encapsulate them (verify qtranslatex2sublanguage folder contains 2 files: readme and php)
