Hey @woodcraftguild,
Can you please switch the Firewall into Learning Mode and let me know if it helps?
Thanks,
Gerroald
I switched it to Learning Mode yesterday but they are still failing.

I know the url (php file) that is trying to be accessed by PayPal. How can I open up access to that file without jeopardising other website files?
We are under consistent external access attempts by automated bots (hence installed WordFence).

Hi @woodcraftguild,
Can you look under Wordfence -> Tools -> Live Traffic, and see if connections to your paypal IPN page are being blocked by Wordfence?
If you can see it being blocked there, you can expand the row and Wordfence will state a reason for why it’s being blocked.

Done that. It says Type: 404 Not Found and “tried to access a non-existent page”
It identifies hostname as notify.paypal.com AND Full Bowser ID as “PayPal IPN ( https://www.paypal.com/ipn )”
An IP address is listed but I understand (from PayPal help) that PayPal uses many IP addresses and that the IP addresses should not be Whitelisted.
I still can’t get the PayPal IPNs to work. I have added the 4 Paypal IP addresses in “Whitelisted IP addresses that bypass all rules” under Advanced Firewall Options. I just attempted a IPN resend and the IP address being blocked is the same as one of those that I just added (and Saved).
Anything else that I can update or check?
Jane
