i just updated to your latest version 2.2.2
and then went to google page insights for ths page https://www.saveatrain.com/blog/picturesque-towns-lake-como/

and i saw

then i went to the plugin, did autotect, downloaded the fonts, generated css, and saved settings
as the page reloaded, the fonts on the left were not there

i am using wordpress 5.2.5

Did you manually re-activate the plugin after updating, like I mentioned in this sticky post? https://wordpress.org/support/topic/re-activation-required-after-upgrading-to-v2-2-2/

1. did what you suggested and it works
2. results are slower than before overall

results desktop before doing the fonts:

same settings as before:

user web font load X
remove version parameter X
Font display Auto
remove google fonts X

i think the remove version parameter X is not working because our font is using ?v= and not ver=
