• Hello!

I have a food blog and have set up a shop page using the woocommerce plugin.

However Im concerned how much of a load time this plugin has on my food blog and how much it affects my site speed. Does anyone know? Ive also noticed my traffic has gone down since I have installed the plugin but also know Googles Nov 8th update has affected many food blogs so Im not sure which if any is the reason.

Also I sell my own products through my Shop page (woocommerce plugin) and now would also like to include a few Amazon products as well. Does anyone know if Amazon allows this? In other words to sell their products beside ones own products since Im using the woocommerce pluing and would like to display different affiliates including my own products or are you only allowed to sell their products through one area?

And lastly, where would I disclose the affiliate disclaimer for Amazon on my “Shop” woocommerce plugin? Would it go in a particular area or inside the actual products page?

Sorry for all the questions but Im new to the woocommerce plugin including how it works with the Amazon rules and regulations and cannot seem to find any info online about both Woocommerce and Amazon being used together at the same time.

Thank you in advance for any and all help!

The plugin is an extra block of code to parse, so it does slow things down some. I’ve not done a formal speed comparison, but I haven’t noticed any noticeable difference in human perception terms. In computer microsecond terms, there is a slow down. Page speed is more affected by server hardware, image file size and the number of requests required to serve a page than the size of the PHP code base.

Terms of service, disclaimers, and other legal matters are better discussed elsewhere than in these forums. It didn’t hurt to ask, but I don’t think any answers you might get would be authoritative.
