password protect wordpress popup pages

    How can I password protect a popup page in wordpress?
    I have a restricted page that only registered users may access, but in that page is a popup link with its own html/php address, so it is theoretically possible to access the webaddress of the popup page without being logged in. How can I make sure that everytime the popup page opens, there is some kind of check that the person accessing the popup page has actually logged in?
