Is their a way to have plugins to work on static pages like the acronym replacer?

Basketball: Funny you should mention this. I just finished adding a static feed page to my site using david Chait’s cg-feedreader plugin.
Works a treat 🙂

It enables you to put feeds into your own site from other sites.
Best thing I can suggest is go take a look at http://shadows.os42.com/feeds.php
