Auto sizing for embedded photos

    My company’s tech support tells me that the recent update (four days ago) to our WordPress accounts does not include autosizing for photos embedded in stories. That means I have to manually resize photos when I insert them. Was autosizing deliberately removed, and if so why? I never had a technical issue with it and it certainly saves time.

    Nothing related to images was removed, but I’m also not entirely sure what you’re referring to.

    Would you please elaborate more on what was happening before the update and what’s happening now?

    Hi James, sorry for the delay in responding, I left my sign in info at the office. Basically, before the update, if I inserted a photo into the body of a story all I had to do was justify it left, right or center and the photo would be automatically sized to fit into the story with wordwrap around the image. I had a choice of four size settings: small, medium, full size and custom. Now, however, I have to size the inserted photos manually to make them fit and the only two options are full-size and custom.

    My tech guy in our India office tells me this is just some change WordPress did in the update and there’s nothing he can do about it. I have my doubts about that. Any idea what really went wrong?

    Ah yes, you’ll handle images through the Image Block now: https://wordpress.org/support/article/image-block/

    You can now re-size manually via the drag markers, but the quick options are also in the block settings to the right: https://wordpress.org/support/article/image-block/#resizing-images
