Hi there,
The weight and dimensions in the Product Data > Shipping section should be weight and dimensions of the product, not including packaging.
Hi,
I do not agree, as the weight entered in that field is the weight with which woocommerce calculates the shipping costs.
If I am wrong, please explain to me where to insert the weight of the packaging to be added to the weight of the item, so that it is calculated automatically.
Regards
Hey @cris0338,
To confirm for you there is no input field in WooCommerce to enter a separate weight for packaging. The weight field on a product should take into consideration the total weight of your product including any additional packaging you may use.
If you’re intending to use a service like USPS, UPS, or FedEx for you shipping this document below contains some good information with regards to box packing calculations.

We hope this helps.

in fact that’s what I thought …
then I was right on my reasoning
I do not use a shipping service in particular,
I put a plugin just to calculate shipping based on weight
but I would like that field, user side, to be defined as the total weight of the product + package, ready for shipment, as I wrote in the ticket text
then return to my question:
can you tell me how to change, in the user-side text, “weight” in “shipping weight” and “measurements” in “shipping measures”
I think it’s more correct from the customer’s point of view

Hey @cris0338,
can you tell me how to change, in the user-side text, “weight” in “shipping weight” and “measurements” in “shipping measures”
You can change the text within WordPress plugins and themes by using a free translation plugin like Loco Translate I know it may sound strange to “translate” your own language, but it works. 🙂
Loco Translate will allow you to find words or phrases and change those to be what you’d like.
