Hi

Sometimes, especially on slow internet connections I get really strange behaviour.. On initial load I see numbers running down the page (1,2,3. I have 3 slides in my slideshow), and the words Next, Prev. This flashes on the screen for a bit of a second, then everything loads all fine. After that everything looks good, but I suspect browser cache hides the problem…
I’m using Flexislider, Fade. I tried to make the images same size as the “container”, not sure I got that right though. It seemed to improve things, but then I got the same behaviour happening….

It’s really annoying…

Hi,

It looks like you are using some mechanism to consolidate all of your CSS files into one. That’s usually good, but that file needs to load and render the styles. Your file is quite large at 122KB. That loads fast for me, but like you mention, a slower connection would struggle.

What I would do is run your site through a service that loads the page and identifies the “critical css”. Then you need to put these styles “inline” the HTML

It’s a little advanced but worth it if you have a lot of CSS. There are some plugins that might be of help as well, but I don’t have first-hand experience with any of them.

I am using Litespeed cache, which is doing that..
Looking through their troubleshooting, I can excluded the CSS combine for the “offending style sheet”. Can you assist by telling me which style sheet to exclude.. (It looks rather complex for me to identify this, but I will try!!! (I’m slowly working through their troubleshooter, but this is all above my pay grade.)

Hi @brucemacg

You would need to disable the cache then look for the CSS files. It’s probably something like this though:
