    Hi,

Wordpress had issues today when I was trying to add links into a post. This led to me getting locked out of my account by triggering a rule I had set. Got the following error message: “Exceeded the maximum number of page not found errors per minute for humans.” When I put in my email to get the link to get back in, I can’t get back in. I SSH’ed into my files, changed the name of the Wordfence file to deactivate it, logged in, but I am not able to change the settings because I had to disable the plugin. As soon as I activated the plugin to go and change the settings, I get locked out again.

    How to solve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @thepanickedfoodie

In the unlock email did you use all three unblocking option links? If you didn’t then try all three.

    Alternatively:

    – Manually disable Wordfence again as you have already done.

    – Login and install the Wordfence Assistant plugin.

    – Now just press the Disable Wordfence Firewall button.

    – Manually enable Wordfence again.

    – The option Enable Rate Limiting and Advanced Blocking will be disabled in the Rate Limiting section on the All Options page. You can set the recommended Rate Limiting settings here:

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/rate-limiting/

    – Enable the option Enable Rate Limiting and Advanced Blocking.

    – You will now need to optimize the firewall again and run through the Learning Mode process again:
