• Hi

I am a newbie to WP having started this month (Nov 2019). I am using Local by Flywheel to create my sites. Started working on a site. I created the Pages in WP, no problem. I then did some design on the Home page using Brizy PRO and the free Astra theme. The next day when I opened the site, I mysteriously had a second Home page which read, ‘Home – Front Page, Brizy’ created in 2018! The worst thing about this is that the design I had worked on the day before had been saved using ‘Home – Front Page, Brizy’ and ‘Home – Front Page, Brizy’ was not recognised to be used on the Menu. As I don’t know how to cut & paste my work to a new Home page I am a bit stuck. Anyone out there have any idea what is going on and what I can do to not lose the design I have worked on? Thank you.

Some themes include demo content. Have you checked with Brizy’s support about this?

    Hi James

No, I haven’t yet. I thought it was a WordPress related matter. As a newbie, these sorts of things are really difficult as you don’t really know who to ask for help.

I have been playing with the Astra theme for a week or so now and this hasn’t happened before. Do you know a way that I can duplicate an entire WP page so I can delete the ‘Home – Front Page, Brizy’ and continue with my attempts at web building?

    Many thanks
    Pete

I know Astra doesn’t contain demo content, I’m not sure about Brizy, hence my recommendation to contact them.

The existence of a page shouldn’t be blocking you from creating new pages. If it is, definitely contact Brizy’s support.

I’m not being blocked from building new pages, my problem is that the design I have been working on has been saved in ‘Home – Front Page, Brizy’ which, for reasons I do not know, cannot be used in a Menu. It is as if the Page does not exist. I just want to understand how and why a Page that was created in 2018 ends up on my WordPress admin and will this happen again.

Generally, the Front Page cannot be included in the menu, because it’s the Front Page.

Instead, add it to the menu as a Custom Link.
