Error: Duplicate DB Backups on a particular day

    Good day,

    I have a strange behavior of UpdraftPlus. The backup of my database runs everyday once at night and is uploaded to my Dropbox. That works just fine, but every Thursday night, I get twelve! identical backups of the database.
    I don’t see any settings that might cause UpdrafPlus to backup several times the same thing on a particular day.

    Does anybody have an idea what might cause this?

    Running WP 5.2 and UpdraftPlus 1.16.20

    As I can see you have database backups scheduled daily, however you have set the retention value 90, Any specific reason to keep latest 90 database sets?

    I recommend to reduce the value upto 2 or 3 database sets.

    Before that please Wipe the settings from UpdraftPlus > Advanced tools > Wipe settings, Click the Wipe settings button.

    Then go to UpdraftPlus > Settings, reconfigure the settings and click Save settings button.

    Let us know if above steps helps to fix the issue.

    thanks for your reply.

    If I reduce the value down to 3, that would mean if I don’t catch a database error within a few days, I don’t have a backup of an old version, correct?

    I have reset the settings and will see how it goes this week.

    Hi Harshad,

    it did not help unfortunately. Instead of Thursdays UpdraftPlus started right after the reset to backup and upload several copies of the database as you see in this screenshot: https://ibb.co/9ctQfwR

    Do you have the option to perform backup before updates checked? But it looks like a normal backup as backups before updates it’s stated out there.

    Today it happened again. The database gets backed up several times at the same time.

    I wiped settings, setup a new backup routine, but it did not help.

    Anybody any ideas why this happens?

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

    It is possible that the other DB backup is from another website. To check, please download a copy and compare the filename.

    Does it come from the same website?
