Hi there, I have a two fold problem

Firstly, I have multiple suburbs that share a postcode. These suburbs do have different shipping rates.

Then I have hospital delivery – which costs more due to delivery guy needing to park and navigate through hospital to deliver. This hospital shares a postcode as well.

How does woocommerce deal with these situations?

    Regards,

    Felix

  • So the individual suburbs have exactly the same postcode? That makes it awkward!

You would probably need to add more regions to the default settings – something like this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/51639599/add-states-for-shipping-zones-instead-of-postcodes-in-woocommerce

As mentioned by seank123 above, WooCommerce can only restrict shipping zones down to the postcode. If you want to differentiate regions within the same postcode, custom coding would be needed for that.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while now though, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

This might be a bit late, but Bolderelements’ Table Rate Shipping has an extension that allows you to charge delivery fees by suburb name. I was in the same position given many areas of Sydney have multiple suburbs sharing postcodes – some covering hundreds of km – and this works great for that.

I’m now trying to find a solution for the same hospital delivery issue because we’re expending to outside delivery drivers and we’d get charged a fee for these deliveries.
