Have to submit multiple times… sometimes

    Sometimes users of my site report the Contact form is not working.

    So I tried it many times myself and they are right.

    Sometimes the form reacts with: “Something went wrong, please try again later.”
    However, if you click submit again the form submits without problem.

    But even fewer times, you havt to click multiple times before it goes well.

    For now I blame recaptcha, but how do I check this behavior?

    Are you using reCAPTCHA v3? Are you getting an orange error border?

    An orange error border can indicate reCAPTCHA v3 is not working correctly on your site (there can be other reasons).

    You may see this error if you’ve:

    • previously used reCAPTCHA v2 with CF7
    • updated to CF7 5.1.1 or newer and
    • not changed your previous reCAPTCHA v2 keys to reCAPTCHA v3 keys at Contact > Integration.

    The API keys for reCAPTCHA v2 don’t work with the reCAPTCHA v3 API.
