Header issue Polylang after WP update | WordPress.org

I have updated my (test) website to WP 5.2.4. After I had done that,the Polylang language changer (flags) in the header disappeared. Anyone know why and more important: How to fix it? I would like to update my actual website to the latest WP version, but want to know how to solve the issue first.

The thing is that the plugin has not changed, the only thing that has changed is WordPress, which makes me think that the problem must be within WordPress somewhere. The flags are placed in the theme header, and have been visible there till I updated WordPress. Does anyone have an idea, what to do or where to look?
