What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?
First of all. Thank you so much for this plugin! It has helped our non-profit a huge amount.

As far as I know, they are all latest versions.
I also have Advanced Access Manager — ver 5.10 installed but not enabled. I am experiencing a different issue with this plugin. When I enable it, I get AJAX datable errors when trying to edit pages. They seem to be unrelated. But I wondered if these issues are related.
The theme is a custom PORTO Theme.
Try deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, WP Super Cache, and WpBakery Visual Composer, and switching theme to the default one (Twenty Nineteen or Twenty Seventeen).
I have
1) Upgraded to PHP 7.3 (with my webserver provider)
2) Removed WP Super Cache Plugin (It was not originally installed, and felt it added an extra layer of uncertainty).
3) Tried the instructions with and without Contact Form 7. In either case, I can edit the content (the editor comes up correctly), BUT, for some reason, the “text boxes” do not load the text. This seems to be limited to the “text boxes”, and not the “header” or “buttons” boxes.
I will try to to contact the WPBakery Visual Composer. With this test, it seems that problem might be with WPBakery and not with Contact Form 7, since that is behaving correctly in all the scenarios.
One more time, THANKS YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PLUGIN, and I do not have words to express my appreciation for the the attention!
Confirmed the problem!
Visual Composer is not compatible with the newer “Gutenberg” block editor in newer versions of WordPress (5.0 and higher )
To fix it, one can download the “classic editor” plugin in wordpress, and this will make Visual Composer and Contact Form 7 work normally again.
