I am not sure what you mean.

When you are logged in, your name will always show in the comment fields.

Try logging out, and see if it still occurs. 😉

Otherwise feel free to post back on this.

When I am logged out of administration and press to comment on a post. I get a page with the post and “Leave A Reply”. The first two text boxes are name and email. My name and email are in those two text boxes. The are suppose to be blank for the user. I went into the appearance/comment.php, but I can’t find the exact location to correct the error. I am not familiar with PHP. Thanks!

Is this occurring with one of the standard themes that comes with WordPress, or did you install a new theme?
Did you change the comment template files at all?
Have you cleared your browser’s cookies and history?
Do you have any third-party plugins installed? Does the problem still occur when you turn these off?

    1. I downloaded a theme from the wordpress sight directly from the workpress editor under appearanc/themes/editor.
    2. I was looking at a comment on my site when I was still in the edit mode. I was testing the reply not realizing I was still in edit and put my name and email in the “Leave Reply” name and email textboxes. I must of changed it. I did not actually go into the comment.php and change it.

I have been looking at this. The comment.php contains the “Leave a Reply” contains the form and the text boxes for name and email. I am not sure, but I believe I read this uses a SQL database. It looks like it set my name and email as the default for those text boxes. The question is how do I undo it?

I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks!
