Lost Image Caption after Cropping

    Hello,

    I have the following problem: If I want to set a post image for a post and access an existing image from the media library, select it and then crop it, the newly created image loses its caption.
    This is problematic, as it also means that image rights set for an image are lost.
    Is there a possibility that the cropped image takes over the image information of the “original” after the cropping dialog?
    Are there any hooks that can be accessed here?

    I tried to crop an image on a local install but it just didn’t work.
    I was able to rotate the image and the alt, caption and description stuff was not deleted.

    Can you try this with the Twenty Nineteen theme, just in case the theme is causing an issue (though I doubt that it is).

    Could you make a screencast of this happening?
