• Hi all,

I’m working with a new client and they have this ‘great’ concept where they would like to create a false landing page, which then… explodes / dissolves / deconstructs in some fashion to reveal their awesome new website.

Firstly, this isn’t my idea, secondly the client isn’t too fussed on UX… so that solves that problem.

I’ve made no promises but said I’ll look into what possibilities as im sure there must be something that can be done.

So guys and gals, any ideas where to start with this one?

Questions examples and comments welcomes, solutions welcomed more so. Thanks!

  • Make about 4 or 5 pages or random nonsense and graphics. Use meta refresh set to just a couple seconds on each page then the last page should say something like ‘Sorry about That but no worries’ ‘here’s what we really wanted you to see… Our new website’ and make that refresh go to the new home page.

Make sure all the internal site homepage links point to that ‘new homepage also’ or your visitors will need to see that first 5 pages each time they head for home.

Easy task and hopefully the owner will get over that idea real quick!!!
