1) I am very confused here.. do you have saperate WordPress blogs or have WPMU blog ?
2) Did you install wordpress from fantastico?
If yes, then you can not upgrade from there. However, you can remove it. Go to cpanel –> fantastico and click on wordpress. you will find the remove link..
if you have saperate blogs, and if they have different admin’s, they can not be managed from cpanel in any way..
@donshutt wordpress admin account can not be maintained from cPanel. Browse http://www.yourwebsitename.com/wp-admin (your wordpress blog admin area) to manage your bloggers or create new users.
Am guessing that by cpanel here means the admin dashboard as opposed to the webhosting cPanel X.
In any case a URL and type install would be helpful
If you are trying to use WordPress MU you won’t be able to without a dedicated server from your host.these can cost a lot. You need these because you need to make changes that apply to the whole server. they won’t let you do this on a server you are sharing with others.

It does not require a dedicated server at all, WPMU is just like wordpress single user. It can be installed on a shared hosting, using normal resources…

I did not read it anywhere, I tried to install wordpress MU on godaddy.
But WordPress MU needs to be install in the root PUBLIC_HTML folder. Godaddy has a directory system in which it keeps all of it’s client’s data, example: PUBLIC_HTML/hosting/premium/client1
Wordpress MU needs to be directly in the PUBLIC_HTML folder. A few other minor setting need to be setup to such as the sub-domain generator, etc
When you set it in the directory they provide some functions won’t work ex Logins,subdomains,etc
You can not do all these settings on a shared server… They will not change their server options for you unless you pay for a dedicated server.
Don’t trust me? Install it…
I have only tried this on godaddy so this might be different for other hosts, Sorry I should have mentioned that earlier.
Oh!! If this is the case, its unbelievable and a very bad policy. WPMU has nothing to do with subdomains (Yes, believe me) and do not need a dedicated server at all.

What do you mean it has nothing to do with sub-domains?!?
When someone create a blog it request to make a sub domain for that blog.
That’s what happens at wordpress.com
