Hi I am looking for a bit of guidance, if any one could be good enough to point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

First off, it’s worth knowing that I am not really very technical.

I am trying to migrate a website to another domain. I am currently using Siteground. I have successfully exported the files to (File). When I attempt to import the files to the new domain I get the the following error message.

“Your file exceeds the maximum upload size for this site: 128 MB”

I understood that All-In-One WP Migration is compatible with Siteground, and 128mg does not seem a huge amount to work with.

I have been advised by SG to use CP and file manager to copy the files/database manually however this is where my knowledge and confidence begin to fail me. Which is why i wanted to use a system like All-In-One.

Can anyone advise where I might be going wrong.

    Thanks

    Hey @sstoqnov!

I am trying to help my friend upload a 148mb .wpress backup to a Siteground site. Can you explain how I do this via file manager or FTP?

    Thanks!

The 128MB file upload setting cannot be modified on our shared hosting plan.

I would recommend using the SiteGround Migrator plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/siteground-migrator/ that will take pretty much all the hassle from the migration process and you won’t have to worry about downloading and uploading files.

    Thanks @hristo-sg

I used All-In-One to backup the old site and now don’t have access to that site.

I presume i can’t use the .wpress file with the Siteground Migrator…
