    Hello,

I recently switched form NextCellent Gallery to NextGEN Gallery but I have a few issues.

    1. When trying to edit a thumbnail I get a blank page and I’m not able to edit anything.
    2. When trying to add a single picture to a post via “add media”, “NextGen Gallery”, selecting a gallery and the picture I want to add I get a blank page and the picture isn’t added to the post (adding the shortcode and changing the options manually works fine) e.g. [singlepic id=8263 w=320 h=240 float=right].
    3. Only the chevrons for the “next” and “back” buttons for an added imagebrowser a clickable and not the whole “button”, making it hard to click.
    4. Pictures in the sidebar widget aren’t changing even with deactivated page caching etc. (selected options are: randomly from only listed).

I already went through your trouble shooting list.
    – All plugins are up-to-date
    – deactivated all plugins and tried only with activated NextGen Gallery
    – NextGen Gallery options reset to default
    – switched theme to default WordPress Twenty Ninteen

None of the above helped with any of the issues.

NextGen Gallery is working fine (issues #1 and #2) on the same server/provider in a different WordPress installation.

    Kind regards

  • Hi @cruelly,

    We are happy to help.
Thank you so much for that detailed description.
If you wouldn’t mind, can you please check our requirements against your current environment? https://www.imagely.com/docs/requirements/

If you arrange or adjust those requirements and the problem persists, please, try to create a new gallery from scratch.

Are you trying to open or use the galleries from “NextCellent Gallery”?
Since it’s a legacy code that might be the issue.

    Please, keep us posted.

    Hello @gabyimagely,

thanks for responding to my post.

    I have checked your requirements:

    – PHP version is set to 7.3
    – MySQL version 5.6.42
    – HTTPS is activated and supported
    – mod_rewrite Apache module is activated via htaccess and supported

    – PHP Safe Mode turned OFF in php.ini
    – 256 MB PHP Memory Limit
    – 64 MB upload limit
    – 755 permission set on /wp-content directory

    GD Support:
    array(13) { [“GD Version”]=> string(26) “bundled (2.1.0 compatible)” [“FreeType Support”]=> bool(true) [“FreeType Linkage”]=> string(13) “with freetype” [“GIF Read Support”]=> bool(true) [“GIF Create Support”]=> bool(true) [“JPEG Support”]=> bool(true) [“PNG Support”]=> bool(true) [“WBMP Support”]=> bool(true) [“XPM Support”]=> bool(false) [“XBM Support”]=> bool(true) [“WebP Support”]=> bool(false) [“BMP Support”]=> bool(true) [“JIS-mapped Japanese Font Support”]=> bool(false) }

All those settings were already in place. I created a new gallery and faced the same problems as mentioned before. As also mentioned before, the problem with the blank pages doesn’t happen on another website hosted on the same server.

    Kind regards
    Mathias

    Hi @cruelly,

I am sorry to hear of the persisting problem. I hope that you wouldn’t mind to deactivate, delete then download a fresh copy of NextGen Gallery and install/activate it then try again to see if that will change anything.

    Please let us know

    Hi @mihaiimagely,

    thanks for your response.

I deleted, downloaded, installed and activated a fresh copy of NGG 3.2.15. The problem with the blank pages for edit thumb and inserting pictures remains.

Apologies for the late response @cruelly

Let’s try something first before creating a bug report.

1.- Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
2.- Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
3.- If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme, it could be a conflict with your current theme.

Note: We recommend performing a full website backup before any troubleshooting.

Please, keep us posted. We are happy to help!

    Hi @gabyimagely,

those steps were the first ones I tried like mentioned in my opening statement.

I did all the steps again and it didn’t solve the problem with

    #1 the blank thumb preview
#2 the blank page when adding a single picture to a post
#4 the sidebar widget not changing it’s pictures

#3 seems to be a simple css issue but I don’t know how to correct it

    Kind regards
    Mathias
