• Hi!

After the latest update a lot of things don’t work as it should for me.

    1. Checkout on mobile not responsive?
The new form which includes both user information & credit card details in the same «image», is too long for most mobile screens. If trying to scroll down to the credit card details at the bottom of the form, the website itself scrolls in the background but NOT the checkout form. Because of this users on mobile phones can not complete the payment. This is a major problem for me!

    2. Checkout does not show totalt amount?
The totalt amount does not show anywhere in the checkout popup. Not even if the customer changes the quantity. None of my customers will complete the checkout without knowing the end price. Why is this missing?

    3. Language translation
This has actually never worked for me. My customers are Norwegians, and Stripe according to their documentation supports Norwegian language. If I choose “Norwegian” in the settings tab, nothing changes. I also tried some of the other languages like Swedish and Japanese but nothing happens. No matter what I try I get english language in my checkout form. Why is this, and what can I do to change it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi and thank you for your report.

    1. Which device and which browser are you using? (e.g. Android phone + Chrome browser or Apple iPhone etc).

    2. It does, but it looks like some kind of a bug. Please go to Stripe Payments -> Settings, then find “Payment Popup Button Text” option. If it’s empty, put “Pay %s” there (without quotes). You can also put it in Norwegian, by the way. E.g. “Betale %s” (sorry if I put it wrong, I used Google Translate). Then save settings and try your payment form again. Let me know how it goes.

    3. This is most important part definitely. I understand your customers wouldn’t want to see foreign language on the website. I will provide instructions how you can translate everything on payment popup for your needs a bit later.

Hi Alexander, thank you so much for extremely quick support! 🙂

    1. Personally I’m using an iPhone 8 with Safari browser. Checking the website on this device the new checkout form covers the whole browser window (and more). This would not be a problem if I could simply scroll down on the form, but instead only the website scrolls in the background making the form static. The same problem occurs if I drag my desktop browser from normal “wide” to “narrow” (like phone width). The form is long and static, and only the website itself scrolls in the background. I can not understand why this is not a major problem for everyone else out there, not only me?

    2. Got it working with the %s. Should have figured this one out by myself, thank you so much!

    3. Hope to get information about the language problem. By the way, is it possible to skip/leave out the «Country» field in the checkout form? I really don’t need it as every customer will be from my own country, Norway.

Thank you for taking your time and reporting issues.

    1. Thank you. I don’t have iPhone 8 at hand, tested in on older iPhone and I’m able to scroll the form without any issues. But I think I have some ideas why this is happening, so will try to find the solution shortly and let you know.

    3. Not at the moment, but we have plans to implement this functionality. General idea is to autodetect visitor’s country (like it was on Stripe’s old popup), but that’s not implemented yet. As a temporary solution, we will add settings option where you can select default country and also a checkbox in the settings that, if enabled (and if you specified default country), will hide country dropdown from popup form.

    1. Thanks!

    3. I really like the idea of possible added functionality concerning country and autodetect! Hope to hear from you when it comes to language translation for the checkout form. It would certainly be great to have the form in «correct» language, Norwegian 🙂

    1. I have fixed the issue with page scrolling (hopefully). Please install test version and let me know if there are any scrolling issues on iPhone https://s-plugins.com/testing-version/

    3. We’re currently looking for a best way to handle it properly, so please bear it with us. I’ll let you know once we figure this out.

New stable version (2.0.3) has been released. Please update it on your site and let me know how it works on your iPhone.

Regarding localization, here is info on this https://s-plugins.com/translating-the-stripe-payments-plugin/

Method 2 is preferred in this case. You don’t have to translate all the strings, just translate those that are on payment popup – e.g. “Address”, “Name”, “Email” etc.

I can see you have translated payment form and also figured new option “Popup Default Country”.

Also non-scrolling issue on some Apple devices should be finally fixed in version 2.0.5 (which is coming out shortly, within few hours from now).

Please let me know if there are any issues.

Yes, language translation and the popup default country is working perfectly! Thank you so much for the quick fix and updates, really appreciate it 🙂

I still have the non-scrolling issue on my iPhone, but hopefully it gets fixed in the new version coming up. I will update and give you my feedback as soon as you release the new version 🙂
