Woocommerce Amazon Pay – CurrencyMismatch Error

I have a WPML woocommerce store. My main currency is Euro€. Checking out with€ works fine, but when i switch to another currency (like dollar or pounds) I am getting this error:

Error: The OrderReferenceId S02-4199547-9739001 has constraints CurrencyMismatch and cannot be confirmed.

I tried switching to twenty nineteen, as well as deactivating the plugins – same error. In the backened it says: “Multi-currency compatibility detected with WPML WooCommerce Multilingual” – So it should work. Has had anyone else the same problem?
