If I update my website it overwrites all the changes I made in the website. This is when I update in public html. When I try it in private html there is no change. It stays the same. What must I do to make the update?
    Thank you.

What do you mean by “update”? What do you mean by “private html”?

It sounds like you may be using an aggressive caching plugin. What happens when you clear that cache?

I put — before the private html and nothing happends so I think I can delete it.
It occured when I installed SSL I think.

Th update is updating the theme.

You seem to be using version 1.8 of your theme. Is this the version released on 6 July 19?

You said it overwrote the changes you made. What changes were those and how did you make them?

No the theme has this version for over a year.

I put it (the new wpcontent/theme, the update) by ftp into into the excisting website wpcontent/theme.

Update your theme to the current version. Do not make changes to theme files or your updates will be lost when you update the theme.
