Need help modifying edit-pages.php

I’d like to change the background color on the parent rows only in the edit-pages.php list. I have a few pages with a lot of child pages, and I’d like to highlight where the parent pages are in the list in order to aid scanning of the list. Is there a way to do this without directly modifying the php page? There doesn’t seem to be any CSS distinction that I could use to change the color that way.
