My site title does not appear when I share posts to Facebook, only the post title.

Also nothing happens if I change the Facebook description/facebook image etc in the Yoast SEO settings. I do use the facebook debugger to “scrape again”. I also have entered the facebook app ID in the settings.

This used to work. Any ideas?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

We can see Yoast is outputting the following for Facebook:

    An Image: https://www.aspaonline.gr/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/gramma-diakopes-fb.jpg

See image which shows this in the page’s source code: https://pasteboard.co/IwLZptW.png

We then ran the URL though the debugger tool and Facebook appears to show the right data. See image: https://pasteboard.co/IwLZHGX.png

Is this issue resolve? If not, can you elaborate more on what you are expecting to show in Facebook? Are you able to take a screenshot of the issue? You can use a tool like: https://pasteboard.co/ to share the image.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. No the issue is not resolved. As you can see here:

    https://pasteboard.co/IwM1TX7.png

Ι want my site name (which is Aspa Online) to be a part of my SEO title. But it’s not! This used to work. For example the title used to be

Now the site name is missing, although I have the right settings.

Also the meta description is not the one I have specified. The meta description that facebook sees is just the first paragraph of the post.

And when I specify a different picture for facebook (which I have not done in this particurlar post) facebook doesn’t see it. It only sees the WordPress featured image.

    Any ideas?

The OpenGraph tags are output in the section by Social Warfare, not Yoast SEO. Please contact Social Warfare for assistance updating the OpenGraph/Facebook tags so they include the information you prefer.

Alternatively, you may want to disable OpenGraph in Social Warfare and enable the feature in Yoast SEO.

This was helpful! The feature was already enabled in Yoast, but Ι disabled it in Social Warfare. The problem is solved. Thanks!
