“Your database is being updated in the background” stuck

Hi, I got a message to update teh DB or something like that for User Registration, so I started the process, and now it’s stuck there for the last 2 days.

I see a bar that reads

User Registration Data Update – Your database is being updated in the background. Taking a while? Click here to run it now.

However, even clicking on teh link does nothing (note: I’m linking to a bogus address only for visualization purposes, the real link is https://EDITED_DOMAIN.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=user-registration&force_update_user_registration=true

I tried disabling the plugin (and teh message went away) and then re-enabling it , but teh message got back, so it’s still there. Any idea on what to do?
