Shortcodes in twentyseventeen

Hi,
I am using wordpress 5.2.2 with the twentyseventeen theme.
I am using list and reponsive accordion for infographics and FAQs.
I have created shortcodes for the above items when i embed them into the page and preview it they can be seen. When I looks at the appearance page of the site the shortcode items can be seen in all modes eg ipad/phone.
In preview it’s perfect. Although the page is published when looking at the site without admin rights the shortcode items are definitely not visible in its place is the poorly grammatical (!) :

“No directory items was found.

No directory items was found.”

It’s the same in all browsers and on smart phones too.
Can anyone give any advice on what i need to do to have the preview of the page and the working shortcodes actually live on my site?
