The GitHub repo does a better job of explaining that the WooCommerce Admin featured plugin is not production ready.
This project is in active development, and is not ready for general use. You can follow the features in development by looking at the project’s issues. We do not recommend running this on production sites.

That’s my whole point lol. It’s not production ready!
My complaint is when I upgraded to a recent version of WooCommerce it was being pushed as the newer and better and was installed automatically along with the WooCommerce update.
Unless I’m remembering incorrectly there was no indication that it should not be used on active sites, in fact I don’t even recall any mention of beta status (but might be wrong on that).
So basically it was pushed out to many active sites with a WooCommerce update and there was adequate information.
@jonathanemms sorry you felt the plugin was buggy. Could you provide some more details about features that you felt were broken? FWIW we have been running this in production on woocommerce.com and I personally run it some other sites in production.
That being said though, each WooCommerce install is quite unique – extensions, hosting environments, and other WordPress plugins can all result in different experiences. So if you can share some more about the bugs that you encountered I’d be happy to help troubleshoot and seek out solutions.
