Manual orders – Unable to process this payment

Hi,

Stripe is working well for regular online shopping orders.
However, when we have a manual order created and the email is sent to the client – when they click on the pay now link and attempt to pay by Stripe they get “Unable to process this payment, please try again or use alternative method.”

As things are going well for regular orders, it obviously isn’t anything to do with API keys or SSL certificate…

Please let me know if you can advise a solution?

I have enabled Debug mode before testing, but nothing for Stripe is showing in the error logs.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

Is this something you’re still having troubles with? Would you mind copying and pasting your System Status Report into this thread so that I can check for any red flags there? You can find this by going to WooCommerce > Status > System Status > Get System Report in your WP-Admin dashboard.

Also, it is strange that nothing would show up in the logs. Have you tried making another test purchase, just to verify? Are you looking in the Stripe logs, specifically (by using the dropdown), or just the first, general log?

Thanks for your reply – yes we are still having issues.

I have checked again, and yes, the Stripe “Log debugged messages” is ticked.
Still nothing from Stripe showing up in the Woocommerce logs though in regards to manual payment tests.
Regular checkout Stripe transactions are showing as they should in the logs dropdown.

I have tried a test manual payment this morning and still get the error message:
“Unable to process this payment, please try again or use alternative method.”
(BTW Paypal is working for manual order payment, so not a blanket manual payment issue either).

Hi again,

Thanks for sending over your System Status Report.

At the moment, I don’t see anything standing out to me in the report that might be of significant concern. Just to be safe, I did test this on a default installation to make sure this wasn’t a bug, but I couldn’t reproduce the behavior. I was able to successfully send out an email/invoice with a link to pay with no problems.

Because of this, I might recommend troubleshooting for third-party conflicts by taking the following steps: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-self-service-guide/
