Setting up categories

    I’m a little stuck with setting up how my categories are displaying. I currently have

    News
    Press
    About
    Contact

    About and contact are just pages but news and press I would like to be able to make posts to. However I only want my Main Index Template to display the news category. Then I would like Press to be accessed by a link from my header, just like the about and contact links. The problem I’m having is I can’t work out how to only show posts from the news catagory on the index. How do I only show posts from a particular catagory?
