    Can you provide the shortcode used for Demo 2?

    I would like the search criteria to be on the left and the active results on the right.

    Also, when using in a responsive manner, need to have the search criteria at the top of the list.

    What you’re asking seems to be all CSS — where to position <div>s — not really to do with the plugin. Study the HTML and CSS of that page…
