Hey everyone, I’m new to this stuff but want to learn. I just recently purchased my own domain name and MS web hosting through 1and1.com. How do I install WordPress on my site to test and use live? What info do I need or need to get from 1and1? Any help would be much appreciated!

MS web hosting

isn’t there any way you can use a linux server? Life will be much easier for you.

you will need php & a mysql database and a properly configured server if you stay with MS

I think I can have them switch it over. With a linux server, I won’t need the extra hassle as you so elegantly put it, lol. Is there still any info that I need to get from 1and1 to install and config?

I’m basically trying to have a website that users can log on and post blogs and want to use simple:press for the forum. I’m I headed in the right direction?
