Just as a starting place, do you have the job listings page specified to the page where you have the [jobs] shortcode in WP Job Manager -> Settings -> Pages?
If you already specified the job listings page in the settings of WP Job Manager, and that is not the issue, could you share what other plugins you have installed? …What you’re describing also sounds like it could be caused by another plugin (or possibly your theme).
The settings page doesn’t give you the option to choose where a page is stored. On the settings pages area it just gives you the choice of pages i.e. Jobs, Job Posting Dashboard, etc. These two pages in particular are pointing to the proper area and the job post is showing up on these pages but when you click on the actual job post it re-directs to our member’s only area and doesn’t provide the full job post only the title and part of the body but not who posted it or the contact information.
We use ultimate member for our member’s only area. Apparently both these plug ins work well together but if ultimate member is causing the job posting to default to our member’s area is there a way to turn that off?
That is very strange–I wonder if your theme could be causing that to happen. I also use Ultimate Member to handle registration and the member only area (with a public job board) on my site, and it does work fine on mine.
Could you provide a link to your site? (If you’d prefer not to post it here, no worries, either!) It could be helpful to be able examine the job listings page to hopefully better understand what’s redirecting it.
I believe it may be our theme that’s putting the job posts to the news post which points to our member’s only area. I’ve found an article on WP Job Manager site about dealing with troublesome themes so going to try its suggestion tomorrow to see if I can manually resolve the issue.
I followed the instructions on this link https://wpjobmanager.com/document/dealing-troublesome-themes/ and managed to get the job posting to post in the right spot but now it’s duplicating it on the same page. See what I mean at this link https://www.cfea.com/job/testing-number-4/
Anyone have any suggestion on how to stop the duplication?
Hi,
Unfortunately, it’s definitely your theme that’s causing this. I can’t help you troubleshoot it beyond what that document states, especially since we don’t have access to the theme’s code. Even if I did have access to it though, it’s up to you to fix the custom theme. You may want to look into one of these services for help:
