• Hi all!

So I’ve got several sites hosted as add-on domains on my main site follywooddream.com. I’ve update the .htaccess file with the redirect for the SSL. What I can’t figure out, not a lot of backend coding on my part, is what code I need to add so that this URL https://follywooddream.com/sue/thailand-article/ comes up like this https://suenilsson.com/thailand-article. So that the path is hidden and it shows the domain and file only.

Thanks in advance for your help. I’ve been googling for a while and my lack of knowledge combined with not wanting to screw up the existing rewrite rules is making this impossible for me!!

  • So I assume you purchased the suenilsson.com domain name? Your hosting provider can provide information on how to set the domain to point to that folder, or they may be able to do it for you.

I’ve already got the domain pointing to the folder so when you click on suenilsson.com it goes to the home page. What I’m asking about here regards if you click on any of the menu links it goes to the correct page but the URL shows the path to the site which includes my domain and the subsequent folders to get to the site. So I am looking for a rewrite rule that hides the path and only shows suenilsson.com with the page after the forward slash. So for example for the Thailand Article page, rather than this https://follywooddream.com/sue/thailand-article/, it will show this https://suenilsson.com/thailand-article. Also I’m hoping there’s a single rewrite rule that will apply to all the pages and not that I have to do a rule for each page. Fingers crossed!

If you go to the WP admin panel, Settings->General, what are the Home and Site URLs? Both should be https://suenilsson.com.
