Display Expired Posts Separately

I am using the “Extra Fields” plugin to store and display expiration dates for my posts.

I’d like to use those dates to separate the expired posts into another part of the page, whether it is on search.php or archive.php. I figure I’ll need separate loops for each of the displays, but that’s about where my understanding of how to execute ends (and I’m probably wrong about that anyway).

Any ideas?
