I have realised that the layout does not look good, there are sub product options that you need to tick as you scroll down…

How easy would it be to shuffle the images to the top of the page, and the BODY text and the product options under the image/s, body text to the left and product options to the right, I just think it would be a better use of space and way more User friendly experience.

Is this easy for a none techy to do or would i need a coder…

I have had this site built by a eveloper but he’s extrenely busy now and a little left in the shit.. so to speak.

    Link provided to dev site.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Your site/page looks fine. A few things to tweak but all and all it looks fine. Way too much text in the summary. I’d shorten that immensely. Anything elongated copy should go in a description tab. Only important, wow factor copy should be in the summary.

Moving things around isn’t good for user experience since this is a responsive theme. You’ll have to start adding push columns to get things to stack right in mobile and why, if you’re not a techy, would you want to do that.

Yeah, you mean the summary which is that big ass block of text?! There is the 2nd description box below all that, do you suggest in there? And as you say keep the WOW copy in the top box only?

If you click the option for size, you will see it drops down with LOADS of other options, I personally think these options are way too long, can I somehow add in a drop box, where I can collapse some of these extra options? Because as far as UX goes I would be bored scrolling down to a blamk page of boring options..

See this, I just think it’ a much better use of screen space?

    Stef

    (@serafinnyc)

Exactly. The summary section should only be the MOST impactful (WOW) selling points in there. Why this frame, how much etc. That’s it. Then elaborate down below in the full description and add additional tabs if need be. However, your variables will push that way down.

You might want to think about using accordion tabs. So that variables are just below the short summary, the the tabs for more pertinent information and weights, reviews, etc.

Yes I want to be able to FOLD AWAY the bit where it says ‘extra options’, can I do that with accordian tabs?? I have seen that word in the back end somewhere…

I would happily pay to meet a wordpress expert face to face, per hour if we could both go over the site and adjust my changes, I could learn along the way, does this happen?

I am in Barcelona right now 🙂

Backend screen grab, how would I add accordian tabs to some of these options?

    Stef

    (@serafinnyc)

Ohhhhh. ACF. Uh oh. How much had been done already like that?

    Stef

    (@serafinnyc)

You can find WC experts here
    https://woocommerce.com/customizations

I’m not sure of other sites that maybe are local to Barcelona

    (@vanodyssey)

    What is ACF? HA

    Stef

    (@serafinnyc)

I can’t view the pic now on laptop. So weird. Looked like Advanced Custom Fields plugin was being used on the product page there when I viewed it on mobile.

Anyway, Tabs in Accordion style are already part of the functionality of WC. I’m surprised this theme doesn’t have or make use of them. Such a nice demo theme.

    Thread Starter vanodyssey

    (@vanodyssey)

OK anyway I can achive my goal? With ACF? Or best to get a developer?

    Stef

    (@serafinnyc)

Don’t use ACF. I’m not sure if that is. Just saying it looked a lot like it. By default the accordion tabs are already in most themes. Just curious why this theme didn’t use them.

Get yourself a dev in your area that you can meet with and get it done right. Maybe there’s someone in your area on the WC list. Best of luck to you!

Looks better now, just those “extra options” need sorting out, cause as soon as you open them the entire screen vanishes down the bottom.

I will have to look into local devs.. Dn’t have £1000ss though for an hours or 2 work…

Yeah there you go. Looking good. You could even shorten that copy a bit more. Leave room for the variable drop downs.
