Square brackets in text widgets

    My post from yesterday is gone. The problem – square brackets don’t work in text widgets. It is not a plugin problem – tried on a new blog with NO plugins. Not specific to anything else that I can see – tried gallery as well as merge codes in a plugin – different site. Have tried with different themes – free and premium. Tried with wp ver 2.7 adn 2.8.

    Is this feature gone from wordpress???

    Hope this post is not removed. This is a real problem and I’ve seen several others who asked similar questions with no answer.
