    My company asked me to switch from WordPress to Wix, but they now wish for me to revert back to WordPress after migrating last night. Does anyone know how to retrieve the old theme back?

    I don’t know how to build sites through coding and I didn’t build the original theme. I’m actually 100% out of my element at this point and don’t really know what to do. Any help would be nice.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Did you make a backup copy? Do you know the theme name? Did you delete the database? Does your host have a backup?

    Did you discontinue services with the old hosting provider where the WP site was hosted or simply change the DNS?

    If all you did was change the DNS and the hosting is still available over on the old hosting provider all you need to do is change the DNS back to the host that was using WordPress. If however you closed the account with the old hosting provider you will need backups as suggested by Joy. Without backups you’ll need to redo the work building it in WordPress.

    Hope this helps. Once you get everything figured out and are back on WordPress please tag the thread as resolved.

    To switch back from Wix to WordPress you should follow these steps:
    1) make sure that your previous WordPress hosting account is still active;
    2) as it was mentioned above – check if the transfer was a simple dns change and if a website copy still exists;
    3) if there is nothing left there, then you need to recover a website manually. If you want to see the old website structure, you may do that with a Web Archive help. Then you should make a page-by-page copy, follow the instruction to make sure you didn’t miss anything. Actually, there shouldn’t be any issues with that.
