Custom Fields in Registration not saved in user meta table

Hi, I have a custom registration form with custom field for password hint. Earlier it was saving the field value in usermeta table. but now when I am adding new users, the data for the password hint is not getting saved. I dont think anything was changed. Can you please assist.
