Upgrade 2.8.1 not recognised

    Hi,

    I am using WP 2.8.1 with a French localization (FR_fr). I had to perform the install manually, as the automatic one simply stalled after the unpack stage (it successfully created a wordpress-2.8.1-fr_FR folder in wp-content/upgrade, but stops right there).

    My Control Panel tells me I am using 2.8.1, but is still telling me to upgrade to… 2.8.1. No idea what’s wrong here.

    it isn’t big proplem, if you has updated, it is okay. or you can delete your wordpress complet, then install again with same username and db name.

    2.8.2 is out, with its own share of issues. I hope this one has been fixed.

    yesanswer: seriously, why did you bother typing in that answer? If I’m posting about it, it’s enough of a problem to me, which is a sufficient condition in itself; plus, it’s an instance of WP not behaving properly, which should be reported regardless of the trouble it causes. And reinstalling from scratch is exactly what I did before posting.
