For about a month now any time I upload an image to my website it keeps throwing up a 410 error in Google search console effectively hurting my rankings. I need help understanding why this keeps happening and how I can fix it in Yoast. I’ve looked for a while and can’t find any help online, even though others have had the same issue. How do I fix this? Please help!

Hi,

Please know that having a 410 on your site will not hurt the SEO. Google is letting you know it found a 410 and it is up to you to then manage it. In this case ignore it. But we would like some more information to better understand why this is happening.

1. Is there a specific reason you are outputting a 410 on all your attachment pages?

2. Are attachment pages like: https://spinlead.com/spinlead-seo-ppc/attachment/digital-marketing appearing in Google and you want them to be removed?

3. Did you install the Purge Plugin on your site: https://wordpress.org/plugins/yoast-seo-search-index-purge/?
