The TOS field will display in the profile if it has not been checked by the user. Once checked (agreed to), it will no longer display in the profile.
Note that changing the saved value of the TOS checkbox will cause the field to display for all users in the profile because the value they currently have saved will not match the new value. This is so if the terms change and need to be re-agreed to, the field value can be updated to force an update by users.
So based on all of that, here are some scenarios where the TOS would display on the profile:
- If a TOS field is added after users already exist, any existing users would not have checked this value and so the checkbox would display on their profile until checked.
- If the TOS checked value is changed. This will display the checkbox on the user’s profile until they check that they agree to the new terms.
- If a user was created through another process (such as User > Add New) and the TOS was not checked when they were created
Once the checkbox is checked for a user, it will no longer display.
