• I downloaded WP into my Dreamhost directory a few months ago, but didn’t touch it until yesterday. Unfortunately, during that time, Firefox flagged my site (www.stephaniegerbig.com) as an attack site.

Apparently, my site was a victim of malware, even though there were no pages to infect.

I ran several virus scans and uninstalled WP. I was then able to reinstall it, but can’t finalize set-up. I get to the page where I input my blog name and email address, but when I submit this information, the attack site warning pops up and I get an error message from WP.

Several people have told me to submit my site to Google to have it taken off “the list,” but I have nothing to submit. No pages have been created. There’s no code to review. I have no site. I’m stuck.

If you could provide any guidance, I would GREATLY appreciate it. I’m not sure where to turn.

  • as was told to you here:

    http://badwarebusters.org/main/itemview/5634

a fresh install of wordpress comes with content. that you didnt add anything to it is of no consequence.

delete the files. delete the wordpress tables and start completely over.

and guess what — if you use a browser other than FF, you wont get the attack site warning.

and unless you intend to actually be a webmaster — point your domain to wordpress.com and use their service.
