• Hi,

I have just uploaded a child theme for my WP Astra theme, I uploaded the .zip file from themes interface in the dashboard, and have managed to successfully edit the functions.php file of the child theme. But when I log in to my server via ftp and look at my themes folder, I can see the original Astra theme folder, but there is no astra-child folder. How can this be? Where could it be?

    Thanks for any help!

    Ben

  • It can’t be – that is the only place it can be.

You say you were editing functions.php – are you sure? Was it the functions.php of the astra-child theme?

    Possibly:
    1. There are multiple wp installs
    2. The theme didn’t install properly – try again – if it is there, it will throw an error: theme already exists, if not, it will try to install – then check for errors

OK, phew, thanks, I found it. My FTP client seemed to be accessing my site on the old server, I just moved two days ago. Not sure why that was happening, guess there was some IP address stuck. I went in to the file manager via cPanel, and there it is, Astra-child. Your reply spurred me on to look deeper so many many thanks 🙂
