Clarification on the IP Looking setting

    Great plugin!

    Can you clarify what is meant by the IP Lookup setting related to “Customize the Geolocation service to be used in the reports.” I thought the MindMax library was used for geolocation. When is the plugin using this IP lookup url? Thank you.

    Hi,

    the free version of the Maxmind database doesn’t provide the kind of details that other online geolocation services offer. Also, some users prefer to not rely on Maxmind for their IP lookups, and that’s why we introduced this feature.

    Ok got it, thanks Jason.

    So if I leave that option empty, it uses MindMax? And if I want to use another IP geolocation service, I simply enter the appropriate url in that option?

    You still need to enter a value in that field, otherwise the lookup feature will not work properly.
