    Hello,

I am trying to figure out why Woocommerce is doubling shipping rates when multiple items are added to the cart. I do have the option ticked to combine items in one box.

It seems to be calculating rates correctly for a single item, but simply doubles the cost when the same item is added. If I add a different item, the shipping price doesn’t double but certainly bumps up to a higher-than-it-should be rate. In the example below, it’s returning a rate of $14.66 for 5 pounds worth of merchandise. The USPS rate calculator on their website returns a rate of $9.80 for 5 lbs.

I tried removing box dimensions altogether from one product but then it went to the fall-back rate. I’m not sure what else to try.

    Thank you!

    Katie

    Hi @kemac82,

This is probably due to the dimensions of the products being larger than the box sizes you have available.

You need to either create custom packages or enable services that allow you to ship bigger items. If both items can’t fit into one Priority Mail envelope, they’ll need 2 and the shipping cost will double as a result.

I just have regular priority mail as an option (not a flat-rate box) – is there a place that I need to specify a box size?

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

You can go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > WooCommerce Services and click on Add Packages under the Packages section.

And there you can add custom packages.

    I hope that helps.
