• Hello,
I’ve installed OceanWP today in a new Wp installation and activated Ocean Extra plugin.
It creates a jump in the Dashboard whenever I click on something (Page, plugins…) giving me a message from OceanWP on a white page. The jump is so quick I can’t read the message. But it is very annoying. I only have Classic Editor installed.
I’ve installed OceanWp and Ocean Extra losts of times and never had any problem.
Could you please let me know how to fix this
    Thanks

  • Hello,

Try to click on the ‘skip setup wizard’ button if it is appearing on the dashboard? Can you share a little video or screenshot so that I can understand it clearly?

    OK that was the problem.
    Thanks a lot

    You’re welcome!

I just updated my ocean extra plug in and it completely deleted Elementor. Then it said I needed to install Elementor so I reinstalled it, and it failed because the destination folder already exists. My site is a mess now.

    Hello,

Can you please tell me the PHP version and memory limit? Update it if it is not PHP7 and increase the memory limit to 256M.

    Install Elementor –
Method 1- Login to cPanel > File Manager > wp-content/plugin folder and delete the Elementor plugin, then install from the dashboard > plugin > add new.

Method 2- just copy the Elementor plugin folder (after downloading a fresh copy of the plugin – unzip it) and upload it using the FTP. Override the files to install Elementor without deleting it.

@apprimit – Method 1 solved my problem and the site went right back in place. Thank you!

Glad to hear that it is fixed!

I have a similar problem. I have lost Ocean extra!! I try to instll it again and I get “Installation failed – destination folder exists” and I have a managed WP site and don’t find access to the cpanel to follow your above instructions. And I don’t know how I lost it!! And even if I install a new one, apparently the old one had data in it and I don’t know how to recover it!! Why do they keep data in a plugin where you can’t get at it????
Anyway I hope you can help me. It is a staging site without backups!

@lilmcm if you have managed WP hosting, then you can access the plugin folder using SFTP. Try to contact your host provider to get the SFTP details. After getting the details, connect with the SFTP and follow the below method –

Copy the Ocean Extra plugin folder (after downloading a fresh copy of the plugin – unzip it) and upload it using the SFTP. Override the files to install Ocean Extra without deleting it.

    Just uninstall and install again.
    THat would work

Thanks to both. Finally got it uninstalled thru STFP since it had “disappeared” fromthe installed plugins. When re-installed it brought all its data back!! But I find these Ocean plugins a great mystery – we got them from a demo and I do not understand how they work. Wish I could find documentation on them – especially Ocean Extra.
    Thanks again, Lillian

Sure, we will work on the documentation.
