Nice and simple, but Masonry implementation is lacking
-
First, this was very simple to install and start using. No editing templates, no messing with shortcode. I was able to add a gallery to a post as easily as with the built-in gallery block.
However, the way that masonry (image stacking) is implemented leaves a lot to be desired. It only gives you two choices: 2 columns or 3 columns, which isn’t responsive-friendly. The columns scale to fit the window, so you wind up with massive thumbnails if you have your browser set more than 1000px wide.
Instead, I should be able to set the maximum width of each column, and the masonry layout should be able to add and subtract columns as needed.
